Use the coarser side first to gently shape the nail and reduce rough or uneven edges.
File with smooth strokes in one direction, working gradually rather than using heavy pressure.
Switch to the finer side to smooth and refine the edge for a cleaner finish.
After clipping, gently file away any sharp or rough edges that could catch on socks.
Wipe or rinse the file clean after use, dry thoroughly, and store in a dry place.
